?I like to keep the first three strings light because I very rarely hit them. In most cases, I don?t like the way they sound. I think solos are unnecessary in the Misfits. I am not a musician? I am an animal!! ?Dean?s strings hold up and maintain their original intensity through the severe beating I give them, far better than any others. Overall I like to use bigger gauges. Because of the way I play, the tension on the smaller ones is like spaghetti. ?I don?t want to put extra tension on the neck that I don?t need. For me, the first three strings are only there just in case I hit them. I dominate the low strings. My approach is? bigger string, louder and heavier sound. That?s what I?m about. ?I exclusively use Dean Markley strings on a custom Misfits Annihilator guitar that I designed and built myself. I run it through a Bass head amp because it goes to a level of 90, It?s got more power and gives me more bottom end?which helps define my sound? especially live.? Gauges: .011; .013; .017; .030; .042; .052
